Community Safety

Community Safety

Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs) were created under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 to reduce crime and reoffending. In South Tyneside, this is delivered through the Safer South Tyneside Partnership.

The partnership brings together key agencies — including the police, council, probation, health, fire and rescue, and other local partners — to tackle crime, antisocial behaviour, substance misuse, serious violence, and reoffending. It works collaboratively to set priorities, analyse data, engage with communities, and deliver coordinated action plans.
